ADMT Takes Us Through His Sophomore EP ‘Without You,’ Track By Track

Melting hearts and pulling strings with his voice, ADMT is an artist whose sound seems crafted for massive stages and beyond. From Doncaster UK, his sophomore EP Without You is a powerful pop journey, a clear launching pad for even bigger things, especially on the live side where his latest tour is on track to sell out clean. Wanting to know more about the UK's latest hot lad, we asked ADMT to dig into each track of this latest EP, to give up the goods on Yorkshire, 50 Cent, and more.

"Best Friend"

This song, and 50 Cent literally changed everything for me and I couldn't be more grateful. When I posted my version of the track on Instagram (check it out here), I had no idea things were about to blow up. We got permission from 50 Cent to release the full version and that was a huge moment for me.

The lyrics to me represent finding that person who isn’t just your partner or someone you care about, but they are also your best mate. This track is me telling them how much they mean to me.

"Weekend Offender"

A good friend of mine had gone out for literally just ‘one quick drink.’ He was supposed to be home at a reasonable time but once that first drink hit, the giddiness took over and before he knew it, he was locked out. The sun was rising and he had a couple of empty pockets and a head full of regrets haha.

"Overboard"

Overboard is probably one of the most important songs I've ever written. I think when people are at their lowest, one of the biggest issues they face is loneliness. That was definitely a factor for me when I was suffering... This song was written to stop people from doing anything they may regret in their darkest times. If it helps one person, it’s served its purpose. I want people to know they matter, that they are seen and heard, and that they should never take for granted the hole that their absence would leave. I hope that if this track reminds them they aren’t alone, they can find the strength to keep going, just like I did.

"North"

I wrote this song about where I grew up in Yorkshire. I’m a proud northerner and being able to call this place home has grown to mean so much to me. I grew up and still live in a town called Doncaster. No matter how chaotic this place or my relationship with it is, I will always have a place in my heart for Doncaster. It’s made me who I am. "No matter where i go today, I’ll never be too far away if trouble ever comes my way i’ll know…i’ll find my way home."

"Without You"

I reached a place before "Without You" where I was really unhappy. With this track, the inspiration hadn’t come from something painful for once. It’s about the gratitude I have for everyone. Everyone that saved me; family, friends, fans, everyone. They’ve all been there for me, enabled me to be okay, and ultimately still be here today. They've got me through the bad times and I’m so grateful.

"Wish You Love You"

"Wish You Loved You" is about watching someone you love, disregard their own needs. I was in a situation where somebody cared about me so much that they stopped caring about themself. It’s really hard to watch someone you love not value themself or recognise how much they are valued by me / others. I wrote this song because I wanted them to see themself how others see them.
