Find Your "Fine Little Rhythm" With Nick Leng's Latest Groove [PREMIERE]

It feels like a disservice to describe Nick Leng's music as "indie soul" or "dream-pop," confining it to specific sounds that the young musician transcends time and time again. Rather, Leng's discography feels like a journey to a less superficial era, passing through diverse, multi-layered soundscapes that can only be associated with words like magic, cosmic, and transcendent. In his latest release, you can dance through the aforementioned soundscapes, so join us in moving and grooving to a "Fine Little Rhythm" a day ahead of its official release.

"Fine Little Rhythm" doesn't waste any time, tastefully introducing a whimsical melody and groovy bassline from the song's onset. By the one-minute mark, chances are you're bobbing your head, swaying your shoulders, and shaking your buns all at the same time. On a deeper level, the track's dynamic ups and downs represent the unstable rhythm of a perhaps toxic relationship, as Leng buoyantly sings "Baby, won't you please come back?"

Nick Leng spoke further on the single, sharing with us, “'Fine Little Rhythm' is a song about the pulse of a relationship. The push and pull, the ebb and flow. A song to dance and move to."

The new single, much like Leng's 2020 LEMONS  EP, is a testament to the South African singer-songwriter's ability to turn the darkest moments of his life into dazzling works of art. Through a tumultuous breakup, apartment fire, and the loss of a dear friend, Leng interprets moments of despair into blissful sonic form.
