Tūrangi born Jackson Owens began his musical journey when he was 10 years old. Raised in a family deeply connected to soul music, Jackson was influenced by the likes of Sam Cooke, Otis Redding, Amy Winehouse and Stevie Wonder.
Jackson has experience performing across the US and more recently here in Aotearoa. A collaboration with Sons of Zion with their song ‘Love on the Run’ reached the #2 spot on top NZ singles, with its Māori counterpart ‘He Aroha Hinemoa’ hitting #3 on the Te Reo Māori singles charts. He has opened for Stan Walker and performed live with Six60 and Sons Of Zion at Bay Dreams Festival, Home Grown, One Love and many more.
