93FEETOFSMOKE Unleashes 'GOODGRIEF' a Tale of Resurfacing After Sorrow

Whether you've had a football swiped from your clutches at the last minute or not, “good grief” is a phrase you're likely all too familiar with. 93FEETOFSMOKE illustrates this oxymoron with his new stirring alt-rock album GOODGRIEF, a collection of tracks that prove anguish can actually lead us down the path to healing. This cathartic 10-track body of work reminds us that no matter what we may have to endure, we have the power to rebuild.

Commencing with the edgy and emotive “Fucked Over,” 93FEETOFSMOKE details being taken advantage of time and time again. With vehement vocals and in-your-face bass, you can really sense the pain felt from being constantly pushed around. He is driven to his breaking point and has had enough. That rage from being used results in a mesmerizing, emotionally-charged offering that is purely infectious. “All I Ever Wanted” is a radiant, reflective tune about getting everything you dreamed of but still not being satisfied. With an angst-filled plea soaring over acoustic guitar, the meaning of searching for inner happiness is as clear as day. “Silver Linings” is a hard rock hit that narrates the never-ending search for a ray of light within the darkness. With glistening guitar and penetrating drums, the piece is a strong standout on this deeply passionate album.

Marciel Bauer, the brainchild behind 93FEETOFSMOKE, is a Virginia-born, Oregon-based artist whose music possesses an organic quality that listeners naturally gravitate towards. GOODGRIEF exudes that same raw, unfiltered authenticity fans have come to know and love. He confides, “My grandma used to always say, ‘Oh Jiminy Cricket’, good grief. It’s an ode to her. It’s nostalgic, because it reminds me of my childhood.”
