AleXa's Single "sick" Is Like Avril Lavigne Meets K-Pop

In the cross-pollinating world of pop music, it's a curious study to see what talents can be spliced together. If you want to see the blossom of Avril Lavigne pop-punk & full storm K-Pop, then AleXa’es new single is the mutation you need.

Born and raised in Tulsa, Oklahoma by a Korean adoptee, AleXa bridged her two worlds with a love for the stage, performing since she was a toddler. Cracking through with fierce competitive energy, her talent was rewarded as she became one of the very few artists to win both dance competitions in Korea and song contests in America.

All of that spiraling to new heights ultimately pulled her away from her craft and creativity. Success meant more people, more voices, more interest into her every movement. She's now released, "sick," a song about regret and the debt of toxicity, written for all the 27-year-old emo kids who have been forced to leave part of themselves behind. AleXa speaks to the importance of the song in reorienting her sound: "This era of my career feels like the most authentic version of myself. "sick" is a departure from my previous releases, and I'm excited to share a side of me that is deeply connected to my pop-punk influences."

We can’t wait to hear more from AleXa, especially as this pivot feels so much more raw and personal, and while the subject matter might make you queasy, leaving this song off your playlist will make you sick.
