Ally Salort Embraces Emotional Detours on Coming-of-Age EP Change of Plans

Ally Salort’s new EP, Change of Plans, offers a fresh, emotionally charged take on love, self-reflection, and resilience. With this release, Ally delivers a coming-of-age soundtrack full of honesty, introspection, and the unmistakable sound of an artist finding her voice through vulnerability.

The EP, which includes previously released singles, “Tattoo (Selective Memory),” “Horror Movie,” “Before & After,” and “Pretty Face,” introduces two new tracks that, side by side, truly demonstrate Ally Salort’s range as an artist. “Swiss Army Knife,” an undeniable standout on the EP, is an upbeat synth-filled pop track, while “Any Way I Can” is a much softer, piano-driven ballad. Every song is embedded with Ally’s signature alt-pop sonic elements and raw, unfiltered lyricism, further establishing the EP’s emotional depth.

From Ally’s sharp sense of self-awareness and skills as a lyricist, the EP tells a personal story and explores the tension between remembering pain and romanticizing the past. Diving into love, heartbreak, self-discovery, and more, Change of Plans reminds us that walking away can be necessary and embracing change can only lead to growth.

According to Ally, “Change of Plans felt like the perfect title to describe the emotional detour this project takes you through - excitement, confusion, heartbreak, and, eventually, clarity and closure. It’s a phrase that I find fits this period of my life as a young artist (and just as a person in general) of trying to understand myself - thinking I’ve got it all mapped out until something along the way inevitably rewrites the route. Change of Plans is a reminder to give yourself the freedom to be a walking contradiction. It’s grace for the mess and the soundtrack to all sides of yourself.”

This August, Ally Salort will perform her first-ever headline shows in both Los Angeles and New York City.
