Amelia Moore's "Sweet & Sour" Is Your Spooky Girl Fall Anthem

Amelia Moore may not be a name you've heard just yet, but that's likely soon to change. Releasing her debut single today via Capitol Records, Moore introduces herself to the world with "Sweet & Sour," a spooky leftfield pop anthem that reaches soaring heights.

Moore originally discovered her love of music while homeschooling, spending the hours and days falling in love with the craft on her own terms. It's an origin story that comes to life on the Pink Slip, inverness, and 18YOMAN-produced track, as the rising star demonstrates a penchant for infectious experimentation, pulling from the worlds of ominous pop, alluring R&B, and mesmerizing electronic textures.

From contrasting the inherent duality present in Moore, the facades we put up behind a digital lens, to the production that skitters to unveil various foreboding flourishes and breakdowns, "Sweet & Sour" is a song rooted in juxtaposition. "Yeah I'm cute on the internet/Don't be fooled by the silhouette," sings the artist in her disarming falsetto.  "This song is a perfect statement of who I am as a person," confesses Moore. "For the most part I'm a total angel and super-sweet, but the second you mess with me or any of my friends, that's all over. It's kind of a warning to everyone, telling them to be careful and tread lightly, or else they'll get the sour."

"Sweet & Sour" is the first taste of what's to come, with Moore currently hard at work on a debut EP set to release later this year. "I've been working so hard over the past few years, and waited until I found the most authentic version of my music before putting anything out," she says. "I hope my songs make people feel powerful, and inspire them to believe in themselves and trust their gut no matter what everyone else is doing. You really can alter your reality, and it's completely up to you to make that happen."

"Sweet & Sour" is more than just a daring first step forward or the perfect transition from hot girl summer to spooky girl fall. It's a testament to Moore's limitless promise and uncompromising vision.
