Bishop Briggs, Nightly, and more Team Up For Earth Day EP “Inspired By Jane” Inspired by Dr. Jane Goodall

In celebration of Apple TV+'s live-action children's series Jane, which premiered the first episode of its last season, the show has also released an accompanying EP, Inspired By Jane. The exclusive EP comprises five original tracks meant to entertain and serve a higher purpose, working in tandem with the show's goal to empower young people worldwide to follow in Dr. Jane Goodall's footsteps and work towards a better, more sustainable world.

Jane, fueled by Dr. Jane Goodall, is an inspiring adventure series that blends imagination and action as a young environmentalist aims to save our planet's endangered species. Because of the show's mission, teaming up with artists with personal ties to activism was essential.

The record opens with Bishop Briggs's "In Your Eyes," a soulful effort featuring calming nature sounds, an emotional piano arrangement, and Briggs's warm, lullaby-esque vocals. She eloquently describes the connection between humans and animals, vowing to come to their aid now that she sees they need help and as perilous forces threaten their, and ultimately our, precious environment. Briggs shared about the experience of writing for the project, "I'm such a huge forever fan of Dr Jane Goodall. To be able to be a part of something like this that honors her in such a specific way has been such a big, important moment in my musical life and career."

Every track on this body of work is a standout creation, from Leonie Biney's meditative "Endless Day'" to Lily Meola's country-tinged "Welcome Home" and Nightly pop's anthem "Everything Can Change." It's as if each diverse and meticulously crafted piece of music represents the diversity and invigorating magnificence of the world, inviting listeners to reflect on the beauty of the Earth and encouraging them to make a difference through unity. "I think Earth Day is the most important holiday that we get to celebrate. Gives us a moment to zoom out and really look at the bigger picture," shared Meola. "I mean, without this place, we wouldn't have a home, and I think we sometimes take that for granted, and so I think we should start treating every day like Earth Day."

The record ends with the stunning, harp-filled "Ride" delivered by Tash Sultana. The finale speaks on the importance of ocean conservation, with the singer-songwriter and avid surfer sharing, "As a musician and a lover of the ocean, I feel particularly compassionate about protecting our reefs and protecting our oceans. You don't really have to go that far to see the devastation cast from human negligence our reefs all over the world are dying, and we are overfishing our oceans, it needs to stop."

On a more personal note, times are daunting. Anxiety about the state of the world and what the future holds can be all-consuming, but remember that there are still things we can do. Small actions are still actions, and we hope this record inspires you to show up for our planet and yourself, whatever that looks like. Check out Inspired By Jane today.
