Blusher Puts the Pedal to the Metal in the Heart-Racing "Accelerator"

Aussie pop trio Blusher put the pedal to the metal with their latest single, "Accelerator." The single, produced by Donny Bravo, is a high-speed, hard-hitting anthem that follows the success of their last release, "Rave Angel," and sees the group explore the feeling of turning the intensity up on life.

The fast-paced track is a jam-packed, ultra-colorful art piece, splicing together late '90s aspects with riveting pop ideals. The infectious, digitized melodies fueled with gritty basslines, pulsing synths, and ethereal vocals make for an instant earworm, building to that head rush of a chorus. Throughout the single, the three-piece encourages listeners to lean into the chaos of life and embrace the intoxicating feeling of racing in the fast lane without really knowing, or caring, where you're going.

Speaking on creating the new single, Blusher shares, "'Accelerator' feels like Blusher with the saturation turned up to 200%. 'Accelerator' is a big-budget action movie, a late-night highway chase, and James Bond in drag... Our process when writing is to take turns with a handheld mic and sing whatever melodies come into our head without overthinking it. Jade got on the mic and immediately sang the line, 'sometimes I feel like I want to jump out of a helicopter' - from then, we knew it was going to be a slightly unhinged day (in the best way.)."

Blusher is currently on a twenty-three-date run with Icelandic artist Dadi Freyr across the US and will soon announce more international dates, including the Latitude Festival in the UK. 2023 was a massive year for Blusher! Some highlights include being named one of Spotify's RADAR artists and showcasing at The Great Escape UK and SXSW Sydney. Blusher supported international artists Aurora and Tove Lo on their national Australian tours and capped off the year on tour with Icelandic musician Daði Freyr across the UK and Europe.
