'Bridges' Is the New Intimate, Inspired EP from Young, Masterful Artist Sid
London based singer-songwriter Sid has released his new three-track EP Bridges. The talented artist shows us how he combines hypnotic synths with his signature piano sound throughout the EP. Bridges is a potion of emotion allowing us a vulnerable, honest insight into Sid's life. Inspired by his hopes for making stable, new relationships in his move from Mumbai to London, Bridges encapsulates the depth of Sid's sensations of loneliness, love, challenges, loss, and his drive for success.
Title-track "Bridges" opens with Sid singing over the simplistic production, "this morning I went down to the bridge / crossed over to the other side thinking." Cleverly, this not only introduces the EP but gives us an insight to how the idea for Bridges occurred. The songwriter shares, "I go on walks by the Thames quite frequently, and the idea of ‘Bridges’ as a project came about from running across them daily." "Connection" has a bittersweet sound, bursting with strings, synths, twinkling glassy sounds, mellow piano and an uplifting beat. The reverse delay ends the track into a transition to the final song "Fire." Sid's voice glides over his lyrics, reminiscent of Twenty One Pilots' Tyler Robert Joseph - powerful and stirring. His lyricism is the perfect combination of sound to break and mend your heart all in one.
"Fire" is the grand finale of the EP. It takes a ballad-esque nature with swooping strings and nimble, layered piano and of course Sid's euphonious voice revealing his truths in this impassioned love song. Not only does Sid have full creative control of his music but he has a mature, polished sound at just 18 years of age. All in all, you won’t escape the tears on this one. Look out for Sid and hold on to your hearts for the ride of emotion on his new EP Bridges.
