It's All Fun and Games in Cody Ko and Space Rangers' "Bop It"

Is there anything Cody Ko can’t do? The multi-hyphenate YouTuber, podcaster, rapper, and now producer and DJ has been steadily lighting up every creative venture with the same fervor and ingenuity that originally made him the internet’s favorite star. Look no further than his latest single, featuring Space Rangers, “Bop It” for all the proof you need that Ko belongs behind the decks.

“Bop It” arrives as an ode to your favorite childhood game and an absolute dancefloor heater. The banger of a single sees Ko front and center, delivering double entendre after double entendre atop driving house production. The pace is steady and firm, accented by sound effects from the titular childhood game, ushering you to lose yourself in the sway of the dancefloor amongst friends or going at it solo.

“'Bop It' pays homage to the game we all knew and loved growing up, but with a modern tech house-y twist," shares Ko. "I’ve been playing this on my DJ run in Vegas, and the crowd loves the energy (especially that third drop). I worked on this with my long-time collaborators and friends Space Rangers and we instantly knew this was the perfect track to start this rollout.”

Known for his comedic videos, it would be easy to see Ko’s latest venture as some methodical joke that just so happens to involve DJing alongside Dillon Francis, but while “Bop It” retains the artist’s trademark wit, the pumping bassline of the track couldn’t be anything but a seriously good time. If “Bop It” is any indication of what Ko has in store for us, then we better reserve a permanent residency for this artist and DJ on each and every one of our party playlists.
