Deb Never, WEDIDIT's first female signing has been crafting dreamy tunes with a grungy attitude since she was a preteen. An openly queer Asian American who is making waves in the punk-meets-emo-meets-rap realm, she is definitely worth keeping your eyes on. Having just wrapped up a tour with Ones To Watch bad boy Dominic Fike, Never has unveiled another brutally honest single candidly titled "Ugly."

After having a moment of realization, Never penned "Ugly" as a message to those who are stuck in a relationship solely dependent on comfort. When love is lost, Never is here to tell you that it is time to move on and continue to grow as an individual with this Dylan Brady produced track. Layered with hip-hop electronics and delicate pianos, "Ugly" features Never's soothing vocals that are just too good to pass up.

The accompanying music video for "Ugly" embodies the old school MTV music video aesthetic that we miss dearly. Opening with Never in a brown dog onesie with a leash attached, the "Ugly" visual sees Never struggling with her self-image as she observes other women. Whether she is perched on a tree feeding dogs bologna or chilling in an ice cream truck with a chocolate popsicle, Never fully embraces her quirky character inside and out in this surreal video.

Never spoke on "Ugly," sharing,

"'Ugly' is about a toxic, co-dependent relationship where there's no more love but there's still a need for comfort. I feel like everyone has been in this type of relationship because it's easy to fall into. Then suddenly being unhappy but comfortable becomes normal. I suppose you could call it an ugly relationship."
