Elohim Blows Us Away With 'Reimagined: Live at Hollywood Forever'

Whoever said that true beauty cannot be captured has obviously never listened to Elohim’s Reimagined: Live at Hollywood Forever album. The Los Angeles electronic and alternative artist released a live performance album to give you a beautiful soundtrack for the awkward seasonal transition from Halloween angst to turkey-fueled family gatherings. Brilliantly bedazzled with illustrious orchestral chimes and Elohim’s magnificent piano-playing skills, the 19-track album features some of her biggest hits, such as “Love Is Alive,” “Sleepy Eyes,” and the fan-favorite, “Xanax.”

Upon first listen, the intro to the album is a lot more on the erratic and unsettling side, with a distant sound of two voices in conversation atop a steadily growing rumbling trail of violins. As the rumble exhales into a roar, a more prominent violin sound can be made out, holding together a silvery harmony. As the album makes its way on, the rhythmic tunes of the piano seem to dance off of the walls and curve themselves into knots around your body. Elohim’s light-as-air voice shifts back and forth, showcasing her  gracefully cascading vocal abilities that are as sharp as they are compelling.

Reimagined: Live at Hollywood Forever is a raw and stunning arrangement of the young musician’s paramount position as an artist. The album allows us to experience the Iowa-born virtuoso in all of her glory and crowd-engaging banter from the comfort of our living room couch, midway through a nice glass of wine. Luckily for those of us with a sweet-tooth that surpasses dessert wine on a Monday night, Elohim will be hitting the road on the Ones To Watch - presented "Group Therapy Tour" early next. So, if you were enjoying the emotional palette that this live album brings forth, grab your tickets while you still can.
