JENNIE and Dominic Fike Find Themselves Caught in the Throes of a "Love Hangover"

JENNIE, one of the biggest K-pop names to enter the mainstream, enlists indie pop siren Dominic Fike on “Love Hangover,” the last single to emerge from her upcoming solo project Ruby.

“Fight me, fight me, fight me / You made me so unlike me,” coos JENNIE. The song bottles the tension of knowing what you want is bad for you and wanting it anyway. JENNIE is entangled in a poisonous love, yet a small spark of hope burns hot enough to keep it alive. Fike’s verse perfectly seasons the atmospheric effervescent pop track, no stranger to making art out of love’s thorns. Their collaboration wasn’t unexpected but melds seamlessly.

The Mexico City-shot video stars JENNIE opposite actor Charles Melton, with an undeniable chemistry that only deepens the intensity of “Love Hangover.” The single has already skyrocketed charts, garnering over 11 million streams on Spotify in just days.

Dropping early march, Ruby is set to feature names like Dua Lipa, Childish Gambino, and Kali Uchis, solidifying the magnitude of JENNIE’s ascension. She now calls these names peers, no longer eclipsed by the shadow of a girl group. While BLACKPINK led a historic K-pop run, JENNIE’s power as a solo artist is undeniable, a promising start to the next chapter of her reign.
