22-year-old Brooklyn-based musician and polymath Jhariah continues building a thrilling, fiercely original musical universe with the release of their latest single, "RISK, RISK, RISK!" Fusing dance-punk, emo, prog-rock, and hardcore with hip-hop, Latin pop, and more, the track is a testament to the rising artist's ability to deliver passionately crafted music that expands the mind and breaks sonic borders.

"RISK, RISK, RISK!" is an electric, spirited cry for success that blurs together throttling hardcore with Latin punk and reggaeton. On the explosive chorus that feels reminiscent of an anime OP, the singer belts, "I can't take another day/ I need some change/ I need more to put behind my name/ It’s all the same/ How can you say/ Just what I'm meant to be." With its diverse instrumentation and high-octane production, the track is just a glimpse at what's still to come from this unparalleled new artist.

"I wrote this song about desperately wanting to live up to my potential," shared the artist. "The initial idea came to me in March of 2021, right before I moved out of my parent's house for the first time. I remember just feeling so sick of being in my comfort zone that it became unbearable. I had these larger-than-life goals for myself and my music, and I could see them so vividly, but I still couldn't help but tread cautiously. It started to sink in that I'm trying to accomplish the nearly impossible here, and I've gotta have complete faith in myself. I can't be afraid, even if I should be. No one reaches the heights I want to reach by playing it safe, so I made a promise to bet on myself more.

He explained that the song's lyrics were written over the last two years of supporting themselves and keeping their promise to themselves. "I can't say things always go perfectly, but believing in myself has been worth the risk every single time, without fail. The verse at the end of the song was the last section I wrote. It took two years of treating this song as my mantra to be able to come back and say, 'Hey, I'm kind of unstoppable. There's nothing you can throw at me that I can't turn into something spectacular. I dare you to try.'"

The official music video, directed and edited by William White and Jhariah Clare, is a whimsically weird visual that shows off the artist's colorful personality and dynamic musicality. Boldly colored scenes of Jhariah playing cards, gambling away god knows what, and depictions of them taking on increasingly risky tasks, i.e., walking a tightrope and diffusing a bomb, keep viewers on the edge of their seats, leaving us wondering how our intrepid protagonist will pull through.

This coming fall, Jhariah will be headed out on tour supporting Pinkshift alongside Pollyanna. Kicking off September 17 in Milwaukee, WI, the tour will make its way through major cities across the US, including Nashville and Philadelphia, before wrapping up in Miami, FL, on October 12.
