Jordan Ward Is the Gift That Keeps Giving With 'moreward(FORWARD)'

17 tracks deep, St. Louis-bred LA-based Jordan Ward takes up even more well-earned space with his latest offering moreward(FORWARD), an extension to an already cohesive project that interweaves a myriad of genres and soul-bearing storytelling.

Following his March 2023 debut album FORWARD, this extended release features tracks that didn’t make the final cut, with some being made while the original project was already on its final touches. Not every artist’s scraps can be refurbished as gems, but clearly, Ward isn’t every artist.

A dancer-turned-MC, his music mirrors his dance style: fluid, boneless, and vulnerable. It’s clear musicality is the make-up of his being, able to be translated through whichever medium he so desires. moreward(FORWARD) introduces us to “ZOOMIES,” a playfully pop track that feels like the quench of cool lemonade in a sweltering June heatwave, and “WEBBIE,” an equally feel-good single featuring Easton Fitz.

Due to embark on a global tour alongside 6LACK this coming fall, the newly released track “MUSTARD” featuring the artist sets the tone for the era they’re both entering—free, healed, and responsibly unhinged. Reflecting on the standout feature, Ward shares, “Made this shit with the genius Louie Lastic almost a year ago exactly in what felt like the hottest summer of our lives. Now it just feels like we’re reliving it all over again.” He continues, “6LACK f*cking bodied this verse! Thank you again for sharing your gift, you’ve been paving the way for years and always gave me positive energy throughout my journey! Can’t wait for this f*cking tour.”

He shares that sentiment with the thousands across North America and Europe who have already secured their tickets, eager to witness this project come to life.
