JULES IS DEAD and Ezra Team Up For the Riotous "Just 1 Thing"

Rising teenage alt-rocker JULES IS DEAD has teamed up with multifaceted singer-songwriter Ezra for their new ethereal pop-punk anthem, "Just 1 Thing," just in time to end our summer with a bang. The song is an impeccable effort with standout, airtight guitar playing, profound lyricism, and passionate performances.

"Just 1 Thing" is a natural banger, with Jules' natural, expressive performance bringing out the same energy in Ezra, who tends to skew towards more subtleties in his emotional evocation within his music. She croons over the angsty production, "Can't focus with this pounding in my head / Bury my mind 'cause I want to forget/ Too many ghosts drowned in regret / My friends keep dying, there's no one left." Tired of running and being stuck in this toxic cycle, she roars on the climatic chorus, "Street signs keep on playing back in my mind / And I can't escape from / Endless days, they're all the same / Wish just one thing would go my way."

"This song was created during my first recording session in LA with TAG and Atlantic Records," says JULES IS DEAD. "It represents a key moment when my dreams started to become real, which you can hear in the lyrics. The song talks about my struggles with ruining friendships and relationships because of past issues and how I'm trying to rebuild trust and move on. Working with Ezra, an artist I really look up to, seemed like the right step. We both work with TAG and first met online. Feeling inspired, I reached out to Gabe Saporta, the head of TAG Music, to suggest working with Ezra. This song gave us a great opportunity to collaborate."

The accompanying self-directed music video opens with JULES holding an impromptu show in a graffitied skate park. Surrounded by friends and fans, she delivers a stellar performance in the eye of a riotous mosh pit. She is soon joined by Ezra, who gives a passionate performance of his verse, seamlessly matching the high-octane energy of the track.
