JVKE Battles the Elements and His Distant Emotions in "this is what winter feels like"

Singer-songwriter and producer JVKE delivers the perfect track for this cold and gloomy season with the release of "this is what winter feels like." Serving as a sequel to his hit single "this is what autumn feels like," the multi-faceted artist continues to expound on the theme of love in relation to the seasons, exploring themes of heartbreak, numbness, and the struggle to move on.

Opening with instrumentation reminiscent of a swirling blizzard, the track's first verse dives deep with lines like "cold like I'm seeing my breath" and "the coldest heart's the hardest to break," striking the soul. As he processes his pain amid the icy production, JVKE reaches a point of acceptance and believes that being emotionally cold is the best way to cope with the situation. He begins to not recognize himself as the numbness in his heart grows, repeating the lyrics "too numb to feel the pain, too numb to feel a thing" as the intricate soundscape of wind samples, piano lines, string arrangements, and synths brew in the background.

The chorus erupts into a flurry of sound as JVKE's soaring vocals combat the elements of pulsating synth patterns and understated beats. “i wanted the track to feel cold from start to finish. i wanted to give listeners the same chill as a windy winter night,” shares JVKE.
