10 Questions With the Lara Project [Q&A]

The Lara Project is one of those keenly kept secrets amongst those that know. Comprising of brothers Manuel and Felix Lara, they have honed their craft as go-to creatives for a host of special artists, all while keeping their own artist project in the mix. Wanting to know more about the boys from Valencia, Venezuela, we reached out to learn as much as they allow, which it turns out was a very stoic amount.

Ones To Watch: Who is the Lara Project?

The Lara Project: The Lara Project is a band of producers and creative directors with the mere intention of inspiring people through all forms of art.

What is "Control" all about?

"Control" is the perception of understanding the regret of being trapped in a life full of additions.

We love the playful synths and pulsing beat. How’d you settle on the vibe for the song?

We are known for using '80s sounds in our music and after watching the documentary Studio 54 we felt the need to create an album inspired by the '70s while utilizing retro sounds.

Any collaborators? Who produced the track?

Lara Project produces its own music including lyrics and mix. Luckily for this specific track, we had the pleasure of having Julian Bernal on synth and guitars as well as Daniel Briceño on bass

Your sound is getting more vibrant and retro, is that fair to say?

Definitely, we use analog synths and live instruments. We want to leave behind the plugins and laptops as far as we can.

Can we expect more of this style in the future, potentially on an upcoming album?

Of course, we have a lot of uptempo songs in the upcoming album. We want to create music for stadiums and big festivals.

Besides this excellent single, what else should we be on the lookout for?

The visuals that are coming alongside. Our goal is to create a cinematographic experience to the point of being featured in Cannes film festival and Sundance film festival.

What's inspiring you right now outside of music?

Fashion and architecture are the best words to define our sound.

Summer is upon us, any plans to cool off?

There's no time to cool off now, the album is our main priority

Who are your Ones To Watch?

Lara Project for sure.
