LØLØ's "u & the tin man" Is an Emotional Detour Down the Yellow Brick Road

Pop-punk powerhouse LØLØ takes an emotional detour down the yellow brick road with her fiery new single "u & the tin man." Stark and uncensored, "u & the tin man" is a scathing rebuke of a past lover whom LØLØ cleverly compares to the Tin Man from the classic movie The Wizard of Oz.

Leading with the gentle strums of an acoustic guitar, LØLØ delivers incredibly soft and affecting vocals. The distinctive lack of percussion further adds to the bold juxtaposition between the music's softness and the lyrics' fierceness until the unbearable pressure erupts into a soaring, powerful outro.

"When I moved to LA, I realized I was definitely not in Kansas anymore," she says of the track. "I eventually met someone who hit me like a tornado and left just as viciously. The Wizard of Oz has always been my favorite movie growing up, so I thought it would be fun to compare my situation to someone who really didn't have a heart, like the Tin Man. Except, at least the Tin Man was trying! This is one of the first songs in a while that I wrote completely by myself, so it feels very special. This is also the first song I ever wrote for my debut album, and I'm VERY EXCITED ABOUT IT!!"

The accompanying music video, directed by Justin Alexis, is a fantastical visual that opens with the scenic backdrop of sky-touching mountains and an endless desert. Cutting to LØLØ singing alone in her room, viewers can't help but watch as the cigarette-smoking, alcohol-drinking Tin Man creakily makes his way through the wind and sand.

Serving as the closing track to her forthcoming full-length, falling for robots and wishing i was one, out June 7, the new release will feature alongside previously released singles "omg," "faceplant," "2 of us," "hot girls in hell," "*snow in berlin*," and "poser."
