Los Bitchos Ring in the Holidays With the Hypnotic "Tipp Tapp"

It’s the most wonderful time of the year, and Los Bitchos are adding their signature retro-futuristic sauce to it with the latest seasonal single, “Tipp Tapp.”

Mainly instrumental, the London-based quartet Los Bitchos honors their varying cultural identities through the infusion of Peruvian chicha, Argentine cumbia, and Turkish psych, creating something that bows to tradition while simultaneously reinventing it.

It’s very easy to find yourself enchanted by Los Bitchosm because nothing is quite as hypnotic as organic joy. They are wild within their containers, grooving for pleasure and getting lost in their own orbit. Los Bitchos embodies jubilance, making them the perfect act to contribute to the soundtrack of the holidays. With their debut project Let The Festivities Begin! landing them on Rolling Stone’s Best Albums of 2022, the anticipation of their expanded Los Chrismos Edition is more than enthralling.

Following the release of the less frightful, more delightful single “Los Chrismos,” the two tracks were recorded and produced alongside Venezuelan-English instrumentalist Javier Weyler. When speaking on the essence of “Tip Tapp,” the girls shared, “We imagine ourselves cautiously tiptoeing through a snowy Swedish forest at night holding torches and freaking each other out.”

Repackaging cumbia from the 70s and 80s, their work is introducing folk customs to an audience several generations removed. As they take their talents on a tour through Europe with King Gizzard & the Lizard Wizard this upcoming spring, one can rest assured that there will be many proud ancestors jamming along with them.
