LUNA AURA Is Taking Control With Pop-Rock Single “I’M FREE”

LUNA AURA is making a bold declaration of freedom with her appropriately-titled new single, “I’M FREE.”

The pop-rock track is dripping in early 00s style, from its grungy guitars, to LUNA’s distorted vocals as she gleefully sings, “It’s my life!”

While the song is largely carefree, LUNA does take some time for introspection, admitting, “I’ve got a feeling I got to the party too late…I’m running in place.”

The single’s accompanying music video continues that 2000s feel, with a solo LUNA AURA dancing around parking lots and in front of power lines. The video ups that classic-MTV feel with ultra-saturated colors and video effects that see LUNA split into multiple versions of herself, all rocking out to “I’M FREE.”

LUNA AURA has been crafting songs since she was 11 years old, bringing her personal story to the music she makes.

“The most rewarding aspect of being an artist is both the act of creating, as well as the performance of my creations,” she said in a 2024 interview with Canvas Rebel. “Writing music is a means of catharsis for me, and every little hang up, emotion, or trial I come across is never left open-ended. I get to finish out the stories of my life in whatever color I want through my music, and I’m incredibly grateful to be able to share that in a live setting with people who have been through the same (or similar) experiences as me.”

“I’M FREE” is the perfect song to usher us into warmer weather. You’ll be scream-singing, “Yeah, the sun’s out calling my name // you can see it all over my face” along with LUNA all summer long!
