21-year-old singer and songwriter Lyn Lapid teams up with Gold-selling artist and producer Whethan for the release of her latest single, "Cruise Control." The instantly addictive track is fueled by infectious production that supports Lapid's rich vocals, creating a sonic experience that encourages listeners to dance while having an existential crisis.

Pulsating beats set the tone immediately, with Lapid describing how fast time is moving around her. She opens up about her fears that she might be "spiraling with my foot down" and desperately tries to "cling to the echo." As the pre-chorus hits, tension builds within the soundscapes that Whethan has so expertly created, and Lapid's vocals take on a more ethereal, airy tone.

When the chorus drops in the most satisfying, brain-scratching way, the singer shares that she keeps hitting "cruise control" on her life. The insanely catchy sonic collage of beats and synths juxtaposes Lapid's incredibly vulnerable and deeply relatable lyricism. Stuck inside her own mind and watching life from the outside looking in, she shares that she's scared of losing what little control she still has and feels like a "Stranger living in my bones."

Last summer, Lapid dropped her sophomore EP, to love in the 21st century. The project drew inspiration from fan-favorite Gen Z rom-coms, including To All The Boys I've Loved Before and The Summer I Turned Pretty, and tells the story of the beginning, middle, and end of a relationship, capturing all the emotions of first love. The EP includes fan-favorite songs "poster boy," "ok with it," and "east side."

Over the past year, Lapid's star has only gotten brighter. In 2022, the songstress dropped her long-awaited debut EP, The Outsider, which was dedicated to all "the outsiders" like herself and features fan favorites "In My Mind," "I Guess That Was Goodbye," and "The Outsider." In 2023, Lapid teamed up with Canadian singer and songwriter Ruth B. on "do u really?" leading into the to love in the 21st century chapter. In addition to selling out her headline tours, she toured across North America with Eric Nam, Ricky Montgomery, and Claire Rosinkranz. Surpassing over 700 million global streams across her catalog and amassing five million TikTok followers to date, Lapid has affirmed herself as a rising artist to watch.
