payton, born Payton Moormeier, can seemingly do it all. The Georgia-born singer, songwriter, guitarist and viral creator has steadily been making waves in the pop scene with an alternative take that is teeming with vulnerability and an infectious flair. All this and more reach grand new heights in his latest anthemic single, "Drive Away."

"Drive Away" sees payton making good on the ongoing pop-punk resurgence, delivering a veritable anthem for your summer coming-of-age story. Blending pristine pop production with flourishes of alternative-minded instrumentation, payton perfectly sets the stage for a once-in-a-life escape, whether that be an escape from the monotony of your daily life or simply a three-minute-shy departure. The effect is a track you can't help but play on repeat.

payton spoke further on the excitement surrounding "Drive Away," sharing, "From the moment DRIVE AWAY was written I knew it was a special one. I'm always excited about the music I release, but sometimes there's the one that gets you very very hyped. I've been waiting for a long time to get this one out. I hope it brings the same positive energy it's given me since day one when they listen to it. Very excited to perform this one on tour and hyped to get on the road and perform across the country for the first time. Summer 2021 is going to be crazy."

Not one to leave us wanting, "Drive Away" also arrives hand-in-hand with an accompanying video, premiering here today. Paying homage to classic '80s flick Ferris Bueller's Day Off, the video features payton playing the part of a valet and making the most of a "borrowed" car before sneaking his love interest out of detention by impersonating her father.

payton is quickly shaping up to become a force to be reckoned with in the alternative pop space. And if "Drive Away" is any indication of what's to come for payton, beyond heading out on the  'Boys of Summer Tour,' this certainly won't be the last we'll be hearing from this budding star.
