Shirazee's "Zaddy" Is An All Out Vibe [Premiere]
Shirazee's "Zaddy" is the most vibrant Afropop tune to drop this summer. Its sensual beat and glistening undertones give it the pop and flair of a hit. The cultural juggernaut, Shirazee, originally called Benin home. As his travels have led him to live in numerous places, he's experienced so much life and it shows through his music, especially on "Zaddy."
Growing up Shirazee engaged with the classics. Motown was played all throughout his home. It gave him a great appreciation for the style he infused into "Zaddy." He shared, “There are some musical eras I didn't get to live through, and the 80s and 90s are at the top of that list as a student of music." "Zaddy" revamps a sample of a late 90s dance hit called "Sexual (Li Da Di)" by Amber. Shirazee wanted to put his own explorative spin on it, "I wondered what would happen if we married that with what I'm creating today. When I got to the studio and replayed the Amber record, it fit like a glove. A no-brainer.”
