Silver Sphere's  "crowd"  Is an Iridescent Portrait of Vulnerability

"A pop star from another planet." The seemingly simple statement goes a long way in beginning to understand the world of rising indie pop star Silver Sphere. Emerging from some far-off realm where pop is highly malleable - simultaneously hyper-futuristic and nostalgia-ridden - the out of this world artist is already making her mark as an enviable act to watch. Nowhere does this sentiment ring more true than in her impeccable major label debut single, "crowd."

Released via Little Worry / RCA Records, "crowd" marks Silver Sphere's major label debut, following the independent release of her 2019 debut EP, yikes!. Also arriving as the first glance at her forthcoming sophomore EP, all my boyfriends, "crowd" is an iridescent look at what is to come.

Soaked in a dreamlike undercurrent of understated production, Silver Sphere reminisces with a profound, palpable vulnerability. Each word sung has an impactful weight to it; yet, at the same time, the lyrics seem lighter than air, allowing them to linger just above the bubbling soundscape.   The effect is a track whose sonics arrive like a daydream, wholly enveloping and existing just beyond an impermeable haze. Silver Sphere spoke further on the new single, sharing,

"'crowd' is about allowing yourself to be vulnerable after building up walls with someone. It's about the hard conversations, and demanding accountability in exchange for forgiveness. And it's about a relationship that meant a lot to me."

In "crowd," Silver Sphere sounds more polished than ever before. Yet, there is not a single ounce of sacrifice to be found in the realization of the track's mesmerizing vision. This truly feels like Silver Sphere at her best and most honest.
