THE BLSSM's "MERRY GO ROUND" Is Your New Chaotic Good Theme Song

Genre-bending, effervescent artist, and fashion curator THE BLSSM continues to make her mark in the alt-pop scene with the release of her latest single, "MERRY GO ROUND." The hypnotic track, co-written with Sarah Aarons (Miley Cyrus, Halsey, Reneé Rapp) and produced with Romil Hemnani (Brockhampton), Sophie Gray, and Aaron Shadrow (Iann Dior, Trippie Redd), is an endorphin rush of an addition to the rising artist's discography, taking listeners on a joyride through a world full of glistening percussion, angsty guitar riffs, and edgy production.

"MERRY GO ROUND" opens with a flurry of pulsating beats, twinkling synths, and droning guitar riffs. THE BLSSM's addictive vocals share a story of remorse, expressing that they regret keeping their lover at arm's length and treating them poorly. On the dance-inducing chorus, she apologizes for taking them through hell and back, singing, "I'm sorry I never come down / And I'm letting you down / A merry go round / I'm sorry for luring you in / And spitting you out."

THE BLSSM called their latest single "a theme song for a 'Chaotic Good' type character – someone who falls too hard, feels too much, and is destructive along the way but also cares so deeply." She further elaborated that the track is perfect for when listeners are "feeling melodramatic and emotional at the club."

Alongside the release of "MERRY GO ROUND," THE BLSSM has announced the release of her third EP, INFINITY H(OURS), which will arrive on Friday, June 30. The upcoming record will be a follow-up to her massively successful sophomore 2022 EP PURE ENERGY, which amassed widespread critical praise and saw her touring alongside indie pop staples Remi Wolf and Role Model. She also hit the U.S. festival circuit, performing must-see, high-energy sets at Outside Lands, Life is Beautiful, and All Things Go.
