Whitney Whitney Yearns For "A Man Written By A Woman" In New Country Infused Single

Singer-songwriter Whitney Whitney is kicking off 2026 with country-tinged pop single “A Man Written By A Woman.” The song, a follow-up to 2025 single “Isabelle,” sees Whitney Whitney on the search for a different kind of guy — one she could create herself.

“If I could write my own man, he’d treat me right // he’d be a day at the beach,” she declares. “I need a man written by a woman // sweep me off my feet, do the things that you wouldn’t.”

Whitney Whitney’s lyrics pack a sarcastic punch — “If God allowed it, I’d change ‘em all // make ‘em sweet and mature,” she winks — while still capturing the heartache of knowing that, no matter how hard you try, you can’t change someone who doesn’t want to be changed.

The track’s production blends cinematic pop production with country-style acoustic guitar and vocals; Whitney Whitney closes “A Man Written By A Woman” with airy yodeling vocals that bring to mind Chappell Roan’s own vocal style.

"'A Man Written By a Woman’ is one of my favorite songs on the project,” Whitney Whitney said of the single. “One day I heard this phrase ‘a man written by a woman,’ and it was a moment of shock because I was like ‘wait, yes! This is what I need, but it doesn’t exist!'"

The artist has been open about the journalistic approach she brings to her songwriting, saying, “Ever since I was 12, I’ve kept journals. All of my entries are about my ups, downs, and even the mundanities of life. I turn it all into poems that lead to lyrics…It’s the foundation — and the music always tells me what to write/channel.”

With “A Man Written By A Woman,” Whitney Whitney is starting the year off strong. We can’t wait to see where 2026 takes her!
