Yeek Gets Cash Money and Us in Our Feels With "$$$$"

Following his Paris Texas-assisted track ETA2, Filipino-American internet loverboy Yeek continues his newest era rollout with the melodic jersey club single “$$$$.”

Three years in the making, “$$$$” doesn’t stray far from Yeek’s signature ability to marry pop and R&B, showcasing vocal dexterity and an innate ability to elicit a sensual hue of moodiness. The song speaks to admiration of an evasive lover, figuring out the blur of her image while constructing in awe.

Jersey City-bred, South Florida-raised, LA-based, Yeek is a product of cultural integration, which only makes sense as to why his music plays homage to so many different pockets of sound. A self-produced singer and songwriter, everything Yeek creates is an extension of him, which lends to the intimacy he’s cultivated with a yearning audience.

As he builds momentum for a highly anticipated project to follow 2021’s Valencia, it’s clear that these tracks are informed by time spent intentionally reflecting, recentering himself as a person before reinventing himself as an artist. Upon release, the artist shared, “I needed time to reflect, treat myself, believe in myself, compare myself, doubt myself, make bad songs and ones I think are really great. People have a strange way of making you feel like you are what you do before you are who you are, so I’ve also been spending any free time I can get just being here.”
