Zach Hood may not be a name you've heard floating around the industry quite yet, but if you're up to speed on your latest Tik Tok musicians, curators, and tastemakers, then his name may ring a bell. Hailing all the way from Alabama, this 19-year-old singer/songwriter is accomplishing feats he never thought he could. As a seemingly overnight sensation, Tik Tok not only gave him the platform to show off his talents, but gave him the chance that the industry folks weren't ready to give him. But the algorithm did it's thing and the people liked what they saw. As a follow up to his debut, we're thrilled to premiere Hood's latest, "Isabelle."

In Zach Hood's debut, we heard an intimate and stripped back piece that let us dive into his sentimental side. A song that was focused on the past and the emotions he endured during a certain time in his life. But, on "Isabelle" Hood delivers a different message. He shares the story of a ravishing weekend spent with a girl he instantly fell head over heels for. A weekend in which he felt alive and present the whole time. A feeling he hadn't quite experienced in that past. In a whole new place, surrounded by new people, with a fresh new start, he shares the positivity of merely living in the moment.

"The lyrics of ‘Isabelle’ are true and honest to a T. It came together on a Sunday afternoon where I was telling [co-collaborators] Jonny and Jayden about my casual, yet memorable, weekend spent with a girl I had recently connected with in LA. I had a strong desire to write an upbeat, care-free song that reflected my current state of happiness, as opposed to talking about my past - like I had been frequently in recent writing sessions. I simply had an amazing time doing essentially nothing with a friend named Isabelle. The rest is history."

The song begins as a simple, laid-back pop tune. You're drawn in by his silky vocals and guitar progression. It isn't long until you realize the simplicity is building up to something that bursts into a pop punk influenced banger. Incorporating distorted guitars on top of a modern pop beat is a recipe we're seeing a lot of newer artists start to compose, but it's something about the way Hood and his co-writers orchestrated it that makes this track so compelling. As young as Hood is, it's safe to say he has a promising career ahead of him and a lot of time to develop into exactly the pop star he wants to be. Bringing a refreshing twist to the pop realm, Zach Hood is most definitely one to keep on your radar.
