Te Whanganui-a-Tara’s staple, Dillon Jo, is a queer, female-fronted four-piece band formed at Massey University in Wellington. Describing their sound as “Dreamy Droppy Rock Pop.” ‘Dillon Jo’ is the project of Wellington-based artists Betty Smith and Georgie Levien, building paths between the elements of dream pop, shoegaze, folk, alt rock, and indie pop to create their genre-defying sound.

They have discovered vibrant chemistry over the past few months, making quite a stir in Wellington with numerous shows, including opening for The Rions, Foley, Wet Denim, Hemi Hemingway, and Coast Arcade, among others. Having heard of each other through the music Reality TV show "Take The Mic" in 2022, which they were both contestants on, they formed Dillon Jo in early 2025. Releasing their first acoustic single ‘It was you (she’s been waiting for)’ in April 2025 and releasing two more singles later in the year, including ‘Shiver’ and ‘Jo’.

The band also consists of Kahu Sanson-Burnett, (a multi-talented musician, producer, and previous member of Parallel Park) and Ruadh Munro, (Drums and previous member of Scarlett Crush). Dillon Jo has transformed their live sets into an unbridled big-sound experience.
