Amie Blu Blows Us Away with Beautiful EP 'crumbs in my bed”'

Amie Blu appears to be perched on the cusp of an indie breakthrough with the release of her debut EP crumbs in my bed. This rising singer-songwriter, hailing from South London, has delivered a soul-stirring collection of tracks that delves into raw emotions of love and self-discovery.

Amie Blu’s emotional sincerity shines through in each track of crumbs in my bed, delivering a psychedelic sonic fusion of R&B and indie that feels undeniably fresh and cutting-edge. The opening track “9 lives” sees Blu muse on a relationship that is taking a toll on her emotionally over a rhythmic beat and unique guitar tones that sets her apart from any artist in her lane. The next song “oh no” follows Amie into the spiraling thoughts in her head as she opens up about overthinking. The synths cleverly ebb and flow throughout the track, and as you listen you feel like they are echoing the synapses firing in her mind.

The next track, “grab my coat” is a collab with producer and artist Humble the Great, and the upbeat tempo and beautiful harmonies bring a brighter vibe to the EP while introspective reflections on feeling unable to get out of a rut flutter in the foreground. The two harmonize “'cause even when I hit a gold mine, I feel shit / And whеn I think I'm on the right line, it ain't it,” perfectly capturing the confusion and dissatisfaction of young adulthood.

“powder” showcases Blu’s voice at its best—equal parts smooth and mesmerizing. It’s easy to get caught up with the emotions in this track, as the simple production of guitar and keys service her voice perfectly. “no spine” is funky, with a bass that drives the song rhythmically and otherworldly synths adding layers of texture to the arrangement. The final offering on the EP is “cactus (demo),” which with its stripped-down production, features Amie delivering vocal runs and beautiful harmonies with herself.

Soulful and innately personal, crumbs in my bed establishes that Blu has the gift to build unforgettable soundscapes that linger long after the last note fades. With her unparalleled artistry and uniquely warm vocals, Blu has crafted an EP that will resonate deeply with listeners and easily cements herself as a new captivating voice you need to hear.
