Break-ups are notoriously difficult, but often the final interactions with an almost-ex are the hardest part. In his debut single "Never," Awgust explores those painful conversations that are inevitable at the end of a relationship and tells an all-too-familiar tale of dishonesty and heartbreak.

"Never" provides a refreshingly honest take on the emotions that come with seeking closure at the end of a relationship and taking ownership of past mistakes. Featuring Sofàa Reyes, the intimate and vulnerable lyrics of the song make you feel as though you're listening in on their conversation. The track blends elements of pop and R&B as the lyrics flow effortlessly between English and Spanish, as if to mirror the breakdown in communication that often comes with a failed relationship. In his own words, Awgust says,

"The song is a goodbye, but it doesn't hold anything back. With Sofàa on it, there's an old school feel of the masculine and feminine voices colliding in a melancholically beautiful story. It has the melodic ear candy and prettiness, but it's raw."

With his Venezuelan roots and musical influences ranging from Mariah Carey to the Spice Girls to No Doubt, Awgust has developed an inimitable sound. Prior to his solo debut, he was a member of boy band Midnight Red, where he developed his talents as an artist working with notable producers like RedOne and touring with artists including Fifth Harmony and Selena Gomez. With such expansive experience and a dedication to perfecting his craft, "Never" is just a glimpse into the amazing music Awgust has to offer.
