beabadoobee, indie pop and rock's favorite musical darling, has released her highly-anticipated “Take A Bite” into the waiting hands of listeners—with a slew of exciting announcements alongside it. The single is the first step toward Bea’s forthcoming album, This Is How Tomorrow Moves, to be released on August 16 via Dirty Hit.

Recorded with the legendary Rick Rubin at the equally renowned Shangri-La studios in Malibu, this album is a firm nod to Bea’s commendable and organic evolution as an artist since the launch of her career. Her debut single, “Coffee,” was a certifiable overnight sensation, immediately embraced for its bedroom pop charm and easy, emotive nostalgia. Now, approaching her third album, Bea has shaped an artistic voice shimmering with whimsical highs, sultry lows, and the authentic perspective listeners have loved since the beginning.

Known for her twinkling take on Bossa-pop, “Take A Bite,” leans even further into this slick sound, luring listeners in with sonic elegance. The song unfolds with a roaming electric guitar melody amidst brightly strummed chords and a rich bass line at the heart of it all. There’s a late '90s and early 2000s seduction to the arrangement, letting real instruments conjure a soundscape of organic depth. Bea’s vocal tone fits right in with the lurid sounds of Fiona Apple or Anna Nalick—equal parts provocative and vulnerable.

“Take A Bite” is accompanied by the release of a music video shot in Bulgaria, starring Bea fitted in the ever-chic Stella McCartney. The enticing quality of the song is perfectly matched by the surreal visuals, where at first glance Bea is simply taking a troll, but a closer look at her surroundings reveals more.

Launching the rollout of her upcoming album, This Is How Tomorrow Moves, “Take A Bite” is an exciting release for beabadoobee in more ways than one. Its significance shows her blossoming career, but more so, the lush soundscape brandishes beabadoobee’s exponentially polished artistic perspective.
