Gen Z icon beabadoobee has made her long-awaited return with the release of her brand new single and video “Talk.” The mood-shifting single drops alongside the announcement of her upcoming sophomore studio album Beatopia, out July 15.

“Talk” is a hazy jam that exemplifies Bea’s versatility, drawing upon her signature blend of pop-rock. Her soft, effervescent vocals weave through layers of instrumentals that feel nostalgic and novel, including catchy guitar riffs and basslines that strongly take influence from definitive 2000s pop-rock hits.

“I wrote ‘Talk’ just after my first album. I was obsessed with Tuesday because I thought it was the best night to go out, not too much chaos but just enough to have a good time,” says Bea on the inspiration for the track. “Generally, it’s about doing things that aren’t necessarily healthy or great for you, but you can’t help indulging. It’s like that unavoidable feeling that you get. You can’t get rid of it, and you know it’s bad, but you love it really, and it’s whatever, so you do it anyways.”

The single arrives alongside a high-energy Alexandra Leese and Luke Casey-directed video that opens on Bea playing guitar on a mushroom-adorned stage with her band. The spirited video’s upbeat energy becomes even more infectious when it cuts to scenes of the artist performing while surrounded by a legion of her biggest fans and her close circle of friends.

Beatopia is set to be beabadoobee's most expansive body of work to date. On the fantastical yet profoundly personal album, the Gen Z icon will explore fuzzy rock, classic singer-songwriter, psychedelia, midwest emo, and outright pop while remaining undeniably authentic.

Starting in April with her debut Coachella performances, beabadoobee will be embarking on a US run of select shows that will see her headline major cities, including Los Angeles, Las Vegas, San Diego, and more. She’ll then be taking the stage as direct support on Halsey’s 'Love and Power' arena tour, performing at The Governors Ball, and joining the east coast leg of Bleachers’ tour, including a performance at NYC’s Radio City Music Hall.

beabadoobee will also be embarking on a run of headline shows in the UK this October, culminating in a monumental show at London’s legendary Brixton Academy. The release of “Talk” kicks off beabadoobee’s biggest and most exciting year-to-date with shows and festival appearances worldwide, including Glastonbury, Primavera Sound, Summer Sonic, Mad Cool, Rock En Seine, Reading & Leeds, TRNSMT, and more.
