Summer may be coming to an end, but Blanks has us feeling otherwise. For those of you unaware of the Dutch pop artist on the rise and YouTube star, Blanks has made a name for himself with his music-based YouTube channel, which offers fans a behind-the-scenes look into the enviable creative's mind - a personal favorite of mine being his styleswap series, which sees him reimagining hit songs in entirely disparate genres and styles. Yet, it's his recent string of original singles that have us on the edge of our seats for what's to come.

"Never Have I Ever," premiering here today, arrives as the fourth single from Blanks' highly-anticipated debut album Nothing Lasts Forever and That's OK, set to release October 29. From its outset, "Never Have I Ever" is dead set on making the most of its rapturous drive. Built around retro synths, stadium-ready vocals, and earworm hooks that instantly find their way in your head and set up home, Blanks' latest single sees him perfecting on his amalgamation of '80s nostalgia and modern-day pop ingenuity.

The palpable excitement delivered throughout every second of "Never Have I Ever" translates to the core message found behind the track's breakneck pacing. "'Never Have I Ever' is a song for the people in your life that get you excited, make you try new things, make you feel alive. To me, this is the song I want to scream the lyrics in the car with my closest friends while we're going on a road trip, ending up somewhere unexpected, building a fire, or watching the stars. This song is for every person that makes you feel alive and happy," shares Blanks.

As Blanks barrels forward with a reckless, charming abandon, it feels nigh impossible to resist his infectious euphoria. The same can be said of the accompanying video, which sees the rising Dutch pop artist embarking on what can only be described as a scene straight out of the climax of a coming-of-age film.
