Swedish singer-songwriter Boy In Space, neé Robin Lundbäck, delivers a deceivingly upbeat track in his latest release “A**hole,” the first look into his forthcoming EP, BACKYARD, set to release September 16. Following the release of his widely acclaimed debut EP FRONTYARD, Boy In Space's latest effort blends the intimate and uniquely personal notes of bedroom pop with a melodic pop-punk twist, creating a distinct sound carried by full band instrumentation and witty writing.

Proving his aptitude for breaking down honest stories over the course of a number of releases, Boy In Space has pioneered a unique method of navigating touchy and difficult topics while sharing his experiences through a lens of positivity. "A**hole" is no different, portraying Boy In Space’s introspective and self-critical, yet humorous look at his faults in a contagious, smile-inducing track. Immediately grabbing the listener with a muffled hook, the track highlights Lundbäck’s compelling and rebellious attitude, following his angsty vocals as he divulges his own mistakes and shortcomings.

“While the frontyard is what you’re happy for people to see, the backyard is everything else. It’s what you try to keep hidden. The backyard is where you can see the ugly stuff. ‘A**hole’ is about some of the lowest times in my life, and the behaviour and thoughts that come to you in those periods of time," shares Boy In Space.

"After listening to "A**hole," you’ll agree that BACKYARD couldn’t come soon enough. Serving as a perfect intro to summer song, "A**hole" foreshadows a complex and intimate look into Boy In Space’s personal life. While FRONTYARD tackled more comfortable issues, BACKYARD is set to dive into more intricate and stigmatized issues such as mental health and self-criticism. With millions of monthly listeners and over 300 million streams on Spotify, Boy In Space is doing more than just reaching for the stars.
