Fresh from the success of last year's GRAY EP, NY-based pop artist Casper Jones returns to us with the video for "Ghost Town." Released late last year, "Ghost Town" is a beautiful alt-pop track that synthesizes modern hip-hop percussion with indie guitar chords, but now Casper Jones finally has dropped its long-awaited visual. Far from the confines of his home studio in Bed Stuy, "Ghost Town" sees the young artist surrounded by lush flora and dense viridian landscapes while in a remote Massachusetts farm town. For Casper Jones, quarantine was an important moment of reflective re-centering, and since "Ghost Town" is all about the beauty of a fresh start, there is certainly much to explore in its new video.

If you missed GRAY last October, then now is the perfect time to start listening to Casper Jones. The video for "Ghost Town" is full of thoughtful and serene energy that is both meditative and uplifting. The conflicting dualism of progress and resetting has also clearly manifested in Jones' single, as the track is full of modern pop production styles, as well as sentimental and acoustic moments that work together to create something entirely new. Casper Jones' vocal performance stands out just as much as it did half a year ago due to his unique vocal timbre and sheer likability. Between striking visuals and clever songwriting, it is clear that he has an eye for good art, as seen on the chorus of "Ghost Town" - 'Baby what's the point of leaving? / You're just doing that to get even" - is a slight interpolation of Drake's 2017 classic "Passionfruit." Interestingly, both these tracks carry a peaceful catharsis with them that is definitely needed as we approach a year in quarantine.

"Ghost Town" is the perfect song for music fans that love tracks with both a vintage aesthetic and a modern feel. Though Casper Jones' newest video may leave his new fans ravenous for more music, luckily the singer has a ton of tracks on his Spotify to satiate fans before he releases his next work.
