Cassadee Pope Makes Triumphant Pop Punk Return On "People That I Love Leave" | THE NOISE

Grammy-nominated, platinum-certified singer-songwriter Cassadee Pope has just released their latest single, "People That I Love Leave." On the track, Pope begins a brand new chapter in her musical journey, returning to her pop and rock roots and tapping into a new area of creativity that she had just been able to explore.

"People That I Love Leave" opens with Cassadee's raw, highly expressive vocals backed by catchy, intensifying guitar riffs. The single then bursts with high-energy and emotionally-charged lyrics about being afraid to love again after having gone through so much pain in past relationships and self-sabotaging yourself in future ones. She belts, "I don't wanna say I love you/ because the people that I love leave/that's all that I've ever seen," explaining that she's been let down her whole life and conditioned to believe that people she becomes attached to are temporary.

"This song describes the difficulties of letting someone love you when you've been hurt in the past," says Cassade about the song. "The idea came from my current relationship and how it sometimes scares me that I have something so beautiful and loving. How I can't help but wait for the other shoe to drop because of past traumas."

The single is the perfect introduction to this new chapter and gives you a taste of what's next to come from THE Cassadee Pope. From her days as the frontwoman of beloved pop-punk band, Hey Monday to winning Season 3 of The Voice (2012) and releasing her #1 debut album, Frame By Frame, Cassadee has always been paving her own way, blurring genre lines and creating emotionally relatable music that spoke to her.
