Chef's Choice: Whitney Whitney

Songwriter and artist, Whitney Whitney, dropped by the studio this week to celebrate the first iteration of songs from her upcoming debut album, 1.

Whitney Whitney is a songwriter fit for fans of Fiona Apple, Regina Spektor, and anything cinematic. On this episode, we dive into her blend of early 2000s sincerity with artful elements of grit, pop earworms, and organic instrumentation, amongst stories about sticking it to the man, anime, and the Narnia soundtrack.

This initial EP is titled 1.1, with three more to follow, subsequently named, 1.2, 1.3, and 1.4, each encapsulating different sonic elements of Whitney’s style, as well as eras in the larger narrative she’s unfolding with this quartet.
