d4vd Delivers a Melancholic Indie Track We Can't Get Enough of in "WORTHLESS"

We simply can’t get enough of d4vd. To no one's surprise, he has delivered magic once again with his latest single, “WORTHLESS.” The single is peak teenage angst conveyed by a mind chock-full of emotions. The track follows on the heels of d4vd’s 'The Root Of It All' tour, which sold out minutes after going on sale.

d4vd, born David Burke, emerged as a visionary DIY artist only one year after he began writing and recording heart-piercing music alone in his sister's closet in Houston. On Youtube, d4vd gained his now-eclectic taste in rap and indie music from internet wormholes and fan-made Fortnite videos, which he also started making as a homeschooled teenager. His range paints a vivid story, with each new single emerging like a recently uncovered hue meticulously placed upon his ever-growing canvas.

His potpourri palette manifests in his array of singles released over the past two years that showcase his ability to hop from indie-alternative to pop to R&B with ease. He continued his rise with the recent single “Placebo Effect,” and now “WORTHLESS," racking up streams left and right with each drop. The 17-year-old rising star may be young but his musicianship and songwriting speak to a maturity well beyond his years. The grungy guitar-driven number is just as melancholy in sound as it is in message. Here in “WORTHLESS,”he sings, “'Cause every time the sun comes up I start feeling worthless – It's easier said than done, I'm trying to find my purpose.”

Before even graduating high school, d4vd’s breakout song “Romantic Homicide,” reached No. 34 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart, simply recorded entirely on an iPhone, and led to d4vd signing with Darkroom/Interscope. "WORTHLESS" is yet another chapter in this once-in-a-lifetime story that we're watching unfold before our very eyes.
