Montell Fish Assumes the Moniker of dj gummy bear For a Series of Otherworldly Singles

Cinematic and celestial, Montell Fish assumes the identity of dj gummy bear to experiment with time and space, lending to timeless magic like “All Night Long,” "im still here" and "nothing ever really matters."

Produced alongside Jacob Portrait at Electric Lady Studios, a space Jimi Hendrick built for creatives to be expansive and unbound, it’s evident this single was infused with an ancestral funk. It’s both before and after Fish’s time, alternatively groovy and deeply sensual.

Through barely discernable chatter, you’re catapulted through a sound vortex, as Fish falls captive to his own desire. “Don't run from emotion / My love is devotion / My love is for real.” Begging to love and be loved, we meet new depths of Fish’s artistry as he shapeshifts through new iterations of musical identity.

It’s songs like “All Night Long” that could only be birthed from the vastness of no expectation. Assuming an alternative musical identity has allowed him to create without the pressure of reception or continuity, which in turn has churned out some of his best work thus far. As many punish him for not staying true to a one-dimensional identity, Montell Fish as dj gummy bear proves that honoring your inherent unlimited nature will always be the right route, even if some fans fall away in the process.

Shortly after the release of "All Night Long," Fish also surprise released two new singles under his dj gummy bear moniker, "im still here" and "nothing ever really matters." The former is centered around an unwavering beat adorned by Fish's ethereal vocals, while the latter exists in the sparse, dynamic sonic space the enigmatic artist often inhabits, weaving in and out of emotional pleas to oneself and the universe at large.
