Can Doechii miss? Between viral TikTok hits and joining forces with TDE, it seems unlikely. It's been a pretty insane time for the artist since she dropped "Yucky Blucky Fruitcake" almost a year-and-a-half ago, and things aren't slowing down anytime soon. The Tampa artist returns this week with "Crazy," a high-octane single accompanied by an even more chaotic visual. Over an unyielding mix decorated with seductive basslines and explosive drum tracks, the visual for  "Crazy" is filled with nude dancers, an albino alligator, Doechii wielding assault weapons, and everything in-between.

In the wake of her last single "Persuasive", "Crazy" suggests that we may be knee-deep in the year of Doechii as she continues to hold music in a headlock. Her performance on "Crazy", however, is on a totally new level. Alternating between rapping and screaming at a moment's notice, Doechii expresses an incredible versatility that already rivals, if not surpasses, many of her peers. On the track's message, Doechii explains "'Crazy' is about un-contained power, creativity, and confidence. People call you crazy when they fear you or they don't understand you". Seeking to highlight the successes and struggles of the female form as it ascends to creative freedom, the C. Prinz-directed visual is a love letter to strength, perseverance, and unbridled artistry.

If somehow this is your first introduction to Doechii despite her incredible past year, then worry not, as "Crazy" is the perfect introduction to one of hip-hop's most promising new acts. Having gone 2-for-2 with her last singles, it may be safe to say that Doechii has entered album mode, but until her next release, you can catch me with "Crazy" on repeat.
