Dominic Fike Presents the First 3 Songs From His Upcoming Mixtape, 'Rocket'

Precise, bleeding, and always matter-of-fact, Dominic Fike’s Here are the first 3 songs from my mixtape, Rocket is exactly what it says it is and exactly what Fike fans longed for.

After a drawn-out pause since 2024’s 14 minutes to focus on his and Kevin Abstract’s musical duo, Geezer, Fike is soft-launching a new solo era. He’s made it very clear that Rocket is not an album, but rather, a mixtape that calls for him to be sonically limitless and expansive. The pressure of a studio album can feel confining and rigid, while a passion project centers creative expression with no true bounds.

“All Hands on Deck,” “Aftermath - Edit,” and “Smile” are the first tracks to emerge from Rocket. In true Fike fashion, he bows to no genre, teetering on the lines of indie folk and rock to produce something timid and vulnerable. He’s softened into his life, letting fatherhood and the crashing waves of time moving forward evolve him more deeply into himself. Between acting, side projects, features, and of course, festival performances to a sea of deafening crowds, it’s the life lived in between that has informed Fike’s sonic reintroduction.

One of the most captivating artists of his generation, Fike knows he’ll always have our attention, so long as he’s being true to the evolving fire that burns within him. Due August 22, the 12-track Rocket may serve as his most raw work yet.
