Dreamer Isioma Embarks on an Intergalactic Journey Inward in "Fuck Tha World"

Fittingly dropping on Friday the 13th, indie rebel Dreamer Isioma’s newest single “Fuck Tha World” introduces us to a demurring side to the singer-songwriter, one that shakes us awake and challenges the comfort we’ve built in corruption.

Their first whispers since rocking us with their debut project Goodnight Dreamer, “Fuck Tha World” fills big shoes and comes out swinging. While their last project gently held our hands through an exploration of spiritual truth and dismantling antiquated thought, “Fuck Tha World” is deepening the story without as much cushioning. But then again, who has time to cover basics when we’re in as dire of a state as ever?

The track kicks off a hero's journey that we assume will likely be carried through the rest of whichever project is to follow, nodding to artists like Kid Cudi who have also combined both narrative and sci-fi in projects like Man on the Moon. In its visual, Isioma stars as Princess Forever, an extension of the artist who we join on the quest for truth, liberation, and sovereignty.

The single’s music video is raunchy, animated, and enthralling. We witness Princess Forever return home and learn that “world leaders and corrupt media have painted him as a criminal. This is because they don’t want their greedy tyranny to crumble after the public is given the option to leave Terra 2000. 'Fuck Tha World’ touches on the existentialism of life and freedom.”

Dreamer Isioma embodies juxtaposition, standing as proof that not only is there room for rage and ascension in one breath but that rage can be what catapults that very ascension in the first place. “Fuck Tha World” is an explosive declaration of independence and an invitation for us to be brave enough to do the same.
