fakemink, Ecco2k, and Mechatok Link for the Trance-Inducing "MAKKA"

Quite the ambitious lineup, fakemink and Mechatok team up on “MAKKA,” a warped indietronica track powerful enough to resurrect Ecco2k from a year-long hiatus.

A cluster of energy wandering through the void, nothing about fakemink seems tethered. Yet, the enigmatic artist has begun to take more and more shape, collecting co-signs while cruising on a winning streak. Every drop over the course of the last few months has only fortified his fanbase, making him one of the UK’s most promising exports in recent memory.

The song has elicited a near feral response from listeners, as this is Ecco2k’s first feature following a long, dormant stint. It only feels right that “MAKKA” had enough pull to end his hibernation, layering an emotional depth to the otherwise pulsating single.

fakemink is “only 20 but it feels like plenty,” not letting his youth diminish the brunt of his bite. Ecco2k floats in his effortlessly hypnotic fashion, a trance-inducing bridge that builds a lover’s absence near palpable. Enlisting finger-plucked guitar and a dizzying, hyperpop soundscape, only Mechatok’s production could house the dichotomy of fakemink’s growl and Ecco2k’s lull.

A God-tier lineup for the chronically online, “MAKKA” has the potential to be the star child in fakemink’s near-perfect catalog.
