Let’s get to know Fletcher:

Ones to Watch: Introduce yourself! Tell us who you are and how you came about.

Hi, I'm Fletcher Kent. I'm from the Central Coast, and I feel like I've really been into music since I was a kid. When I was eight, I sang ABC by the Jackson 5, had everyone dancing behind me, clapping out of time. I remember that night feeling like that's the best feeling I've ever had—and I wanted to orient my life around doing that forever.

When did you realise you wanted to pursue music seriously?

Live performance is at the heart of why I want to be a musician. Playing in front of people, feeling that reciprocal energy, and truly connecting—that’s my favourite thing.

How would you describe your music? Is there a difference between then and now?

Making sense of life. I've had some challenging times, and I've had some incredibly wonderful and beautiful times, and I try to encompass that in my songs and in my show. The only way is up—you just go out there, have fun, connect with a crowd, and bring out the purest moment that I can. That’s always my goal.

Would you say your music is deeply tied to your identity?

Having something so tied up in your identity is both a beautiful thing, but it also comes with the pressure of wanting to represent yourself in the best way possible.

What’s been the most rewarding part of performing live?

Playing live is my favourite thing in music cultivating an energy, creating a vibe, and most of all, connecting with people. That’s always been my number one thing.
