There’s nothing that will turn you more out of sorts than a crush, and flowerovlove encapsulates the disorientation of a summer roster with her latest single, “BOYS.”

London’s very own Joyce Cisse, more popularly known as flowerovlove, is set to hit major stages like Glastonbury come summer festival season, and she’s made certain to bring some new music along with her, catalyzing this next era with her bubbly new single. “I like the ones MIA / And the ones that wanna stay / The ones that wear my makeup / Get jealous of my shoes / If you think you’re worth my time / Then you better get in line / There’s so many that / I just can’t choose.” From gender fluid to emotionally available, the bedroom pop princess is adamant about finding any and every flavor absolutely delicious.

In its accompanying boy-crazy visual, flowerovlove plays up the drama as she carousels through her fantasies, finding life to be dull and gray until there’s a subject of her desires. Directed by Michelle Helena Janssen, there’s no shortage of chic couture, platform heels, nor statement hair, all of which have come to be a signature flowerovlove touch.

As indie-pop’s most beloved rising star, the underlying innocence threaded through her work is the magic of her pull; she reminds us of the unabashed girl within, the one we meet when we let color be loud and spend more time daydreaming than not. “BOYS” is easy to love and euphoric, a refreshing reminder that it doesn’t always have to be that serious and being boy obsessed with well-earned character development.
