Gabriela Bee Speaks to Her Younger Self in "LOOK AT YOU NOW"

A strange collision of youthful perspective occurs when your 17 year old self, still young & newly thriving, has the capacity to offer your 12 year old self, still ridiculously young but unquestionably gifted, proper advice and counsel. That quality is displayed on Gabriela Bee's debut single, "LOOK AT YOU NOW", just one of many other songs that make the young artist a presumptive bet to be the next chanteuse of global renown.

Backed by an ability to spin wonderfully therapeutic lyrics and social media savvy, her approachability meshed with star quality is rarified. On the single in question, a tom-driven rhythm marches over the first verse, building into walls of sound on the pre-chorus before unleashing into a wave of positivity on the chorus. It then tempts up and down before settling on a gently reassuring acoustic outro.

Speaking on the single, Gabriela says: “LOOK AT YOU NOW is a love song dedicated to my younger self. In the lyrics, I am speaking to her as if little Gabi is standing right infront of me. It’s a song about reassurance and protection over my younger self, reminding her that everything happens for a reason. The tone and dynamics of my lyrics and vocals are very gentle, as I would be talking to a child. Sometimes, growing up, the bad times feel like they’ll last forever, and that it's hard to find the Sun on days where the darkness clouds everything.”

With her youthful perspective and incredibly lively voice, Bee has the ability to tilt even the most cynical into genuine appreciation; it's hard to measure what might become of her talents. Indeed, look at you now.
