Continuing her unapologetically pop-laden path, alt-pop artist girli has released her latest single, "Cheap Love." The track set to appear on her highly-anticipated EP! why am i like this??, out May 12, blends hardcore pop production and earnest lyricism, pulsing with sincerity as it tells the story of a young queer couple whose unconditional romance is only strengthened by their lack of funds.

"Cheap Love" opens with girli introducing a dialed-down version of the incredibly catchy chorus. While simmering synths and beats paint the background, girli's lyrics explore the beautiful innocence of young love and not being concerned about being materialistic. The track culminates into an ecstatic sing-along chorus with a dance-inducing sound collage of tropical beats and percussion, creating a carefree sonic space that encourages listeners to throw caution to the wind and embrace life and love.

"I wrote 'Cheap Love' about my first ever relationship I was in when I was still a teenager. It's about being in love on a budget, not having loads of money to take each other out for expensive dinners, or even having a car to pick them up in, but it doesn't matter because being in love makes you feel richer than anyone else. It's a love song to love; even if you do have the money to do those things, most of the time, it's not the cash being spent that makes it special; it's actually just the time you get with that person that matters the most."

For the accompanying music video, viewers see girli teaming up once again with director Kassandra Powell to create a fast-paced, high-octane visual. The playful and sensual video sees the London-based artist tearing around a warehouse on the back of a motorbike driven by her love interest.

"Cheap Love" is the third single to be taken from the forthcoming EP why am i like this?? and follows in the successful footsteps of previously released singles "Imposter Syndrome" and "I Really F**ked Up." girli is currently touring the US for the first time on her 'F**cked It Up tour,' which she kicked off with a sold-out show at Baby's All Right in Brooklyn. She'll finish out the month with performances at SXSW and five alt-J supports before heading back to the UK and Europe to close out her headlining dates.
